Bayfield School District Seeking Applicants for Upcoming Board of Education Vacancy

The Board of Education at 8th Grade Continuation

The Bayfield School District Board of Education is calling on community-minded citizens to consider serving on the Board. Following the upcoming resignation of Debbie Wilhelm, the Board will appoint a new member to serve until the next regular biennial election in November 2025.

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a letter of interest to Secretary to the Board of Education, Brooke LaVenture, no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025.

This is a meaningful opportunity to support and shape the direction of Bayfield School District by contributing to decisions that affect students, staff, and the broader community.

Application Details

Applicants should submit a letter of interest that addresses the following questions:

  • Why would you like to be a Board Member for Bayfield School District?

  • What do you see as the strengths and weaknesses of the district?

  • In what capacities have you served in the district, past or present?

Candidates must meet the following legal criteria:

  • Must not have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child.

  • Must not have served two consecutive terms on the Board that ended less than four years prior to the appointment.

Letters of interest must be submitted via email to [email protected] by the deadline. The Board of Education may interview candidates on June 17, 2025, and the appointment will be made during a special session following the regular board meeting that evening.
