Calling All Citizens Interested in Serving on the 

Bayfield School District 10 Jt-r Board of Education


The Bayfield School District Board of Education anticipates a Board of Education member vacancy in June of 2025. Board member, Debbie Wilhelm, has announced her intent to resign from her position as the Board of Education Vice-President.


Are you interested in serving the community in such a capacity? If so, please read the information below and submit a letter of interest to the Secretary to the Board of Education, Brooke LaVenture, no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6th, 2025. The appointee will serve until the next regular biennial election in November 2025. 


Letters of interest should address the following:


  • Why would you like to be a Board Member for Bayfield School District?
  • What do you see as the strengths and weaknesses at Bayfield School District?
  • In what capacities have you served in the district past and present?

Legal Qualifications


  • The candidate has been a registered elector of Bayfield School District for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the date of the appointment;
  • The candidate has not been convicted of a sexual offense against a child;
  • The candidate has not served on the Bayfield School District Board for two consecutive terms, which ended less than four years prior to the date of appointment.

Letters of interest must be submitted via email by 3:00 p.m. June 6th, 2025 to: [email protected].


Candidates may be interviewed by the Board of Education on June 17, 2025. The appointment will occur at a special session meeting following the regularly scheduled BOE meeting on June 17, 2025.
