Participate in Bayfield School District's Superintendent Interviews

There will be a unique opportunity on April 29 to contribute to the future of Bayfield School District by participating in the interview committee tasked with screening finalists for the position. Being part of the selection process allows community members, educators, and students to have a direct impact on BSD's leadership. It’s an opportunity to help shape the future of education in the district while gaining firsthand experience in the decision-making process.

How to Participate

Participants must be available for a full day of screening on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. Those who are chosen for the committee will also be required to attend a 20-30 minute training session prior to the screenings. The interviews will occur at one of the Bayfield schools, and specific room details will be provided at training.

Each screening session will last approximately 60 minutes. At the end of each session, committees will submit a form detailing the candidate’s strengths and key considerations for the Board of Education (BOE). The BOE will use this feedback in the final decision-making process.

Interested participants should complete the Google form application by Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.. Selection notifications will be sent out by April 16, 2025, including notifications for those not selected.

Screening teams will be formed through a randomized AI selection process. Each team will consist of 6-8 members representing a diverse cross-section of K-12 education and the community. To ensure fairness and inclusivity, teams will be chosen to reflect a balanced mix of stakeholders.

Special Considerations

  • Staff Participation: If selected, staff members will not need to use a PTO day. The district will recognize this as District Business and arrange for necessary substitutes.

  • Student Participation: Students serving on the committee will be excused from classes on April 29. However, they are responsible for coordinating with their instructors to make up any missed assignments.

All community members, regardless of selection status, are encouraged to attend a Meet and Greet with the superintendent candidates on Monday, April 28, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to interact with the candidates and gain insight into their vision for Bayfield School District.

Bayfield School District appreciates the community’s willingness to contribute time and insight to this important initiative. We look forward to working together to select a superintendent who will lead the district with excellence and dedication!
