Calling All Citizens Interested in Serving on the
Bayfield School District 10 Jt-r Board of Education
On September 23, 2025, the Bayfield School District Board of Education adopted a resolution declaring a vacant seat on the board and is now accepting letters of interest from qualified candidates.
Are you interested in serving the community in such a capacity? If so, please read the information below and submit a letter of interest to the Secretary to the Board of Education, Brooke LaVenture, no later than 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 11th, 2025. The appointee will serve until the next regular biennial election in November 2027.
Letters of interest should address the following:
- Why would you like to be a Board Member for Bayfield School District?
- What do you see as the strengths and weaknesses at Bayfield School District?
- In what capacities have you served in the district past and present?
Legal Qualifications
- The candidate has been a registered elector of Bayfield School District for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the date of the appointment;
- The candidate has not been convicted of a sexual offense against a child;
- The candidate has not served on the Bayfield School District Board for two consecutive terms, which ended less than four years prior to the date of appointment.
Letters of interest must be submitted via email by 3:00 p.m. November 11, 2025 to: [email protected].
Candidates may be interviewed by the Board of Education on November 21, 2025.
The appointment, swearing in, and oath of office will occur at a special session meeting scheduled for November 21, 2025.

Bayfield School District School Board Election – Key Info & Timeline
The Bayfield School District will hold an election on November 4, 2025, to fill three four-year seats on the School Board. This election is a chance for community members to influence the future of our schools through local leadership.
📅 Important Election Timeline:

August 6: First day to publish the call for nominations and to begin circulating nomination petitions

August 21: Last day to publish the call for nominations

August 29: Final day to file nomination petitions

September 2: Deadline to cancel the election if fewer candidates file than seats available

September 5: Deadline for lot draw to determine ballot order and for posting candidate info online

October 15: Deadline to publish the official notice of election

November 4: Election Day

November 26: Deadline to receive certified election results

December 5: Deadline for candidates to take the oath of office (within 10 days of certified results)

December 11: Deadline for the board’s organizational meeting (within 15 days of certified results)
