Spring has officially sprung with performances from elementary through high school taking place during the final weeks of the school year. The concerts highlight the dedication, creativity, and collaboration that define Bayfield’s music program.
The concert season kicked off in April with joyful performances by students from Bayfield Primary School and Bayfield Intermediate School, led by dedicated music educators Tanya Young and Katie Rud. Their concerts laid the groundwork for a month full of inspiring musical experiences.
The Spring Concert Series continues into May with the following events:
-
Tuesday, May 6 at 7:00 PM – Bayfield High School & Middle School Orchestra Concert
-
Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 PM – Bayfield High School Band and Choir Spring Concert
-
Tuesday, May 13 at 6:30 PM – Bayfield Middle School Band and Choir Spring Concert
-
Sunday, May 18 at 1:00 PM – Graduation Band Performance, Ceremony begins at 2:00 PM
This week's concerts showcase a pair of award winning groups.
"Each of these groups did great work last week at the CHSAA instrumental contest, receiving ratings of Excellent! They are outstanding musicians at the highest level, and I promise you will enjoy both programs," Smith said.
Eric Stramel guides the Orchestras, and he middle school concert on May 13 will be directed by Rachel Phelps, who leads the music program and has been guiding the vocal development of Bayfield’s younger students at BMS.
All concerts are free and open to the public. Whether you're a parent, alumnus, or member of the community, your presence supports the incredible efforts of our students and teachers, so we hope you'll join us in celebrating the power of music this spring at Bayfield Schools!
"The music team invites you all to take time to enjoy the great musical accomplishments of your students," Smith said, noting that the seniors will be recognized in their final concerts as well.
