The district’s Board of Education, in partnership with McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, has developed a structured process to ensure a thorough and community-driven selection.
The district is seeking a highly qualified leader dedicated to academic excellence, strong community engagement, and visionary leadership. The ideal candidate should have administrative experience, a background in financial management, and a deep understanding of the rural school community.
On February 22, 2025, the Board of Education held a work session to establish key expectations for the search. During this session, the board set the official timeline, identified advertising venues, determined selection criteria, and discussed compensation for the role. Additionally, they assigned a point of contact, reviewed confidentiality agreements, and ensured board members were aligned on the hiring process.
Superintendent Search Timeline
- March 10, 2025 – Stakeholder meetings held in person to gather input.
- March 11-18, 2025 – Online survey open for community feedback.
- Late March/Early April – Interview question survey conducted.
- April 3, 2025 – Application deadline for superintendent candidates.
- April 15, 2025 – Board of Education reviews candidates, selects finalists, and finalizes interview details.
- April 28, 2025 – Community "Meet and Greet" event with finalists, followed by a dinner with the Board of Education.
- April 29, 2025 – Candidate interviews with the Board of Education and stakeholder groups, with school tours based on the number of candidates.
- April 29-30, 2025 – Board selects the new superintendent.
- July 1, 2025 – New superintendent officially starts.
Bayfield residents are encouraged to participate in the online survey and attend the community meet-and-greet event on April 28 to provide input on the selection process.
